Traditional Burial

Mt. Sinai offers several options for selecting a gravesite. All spaces face east/west toward Jerusalem, and three hand-washing stations are dispersed around the grounds. Paved walkways in front of every grave provide the utmost respect to the deceased, as no one needs to walk on a grave.

We welcome you to tour our grounds to view the many burial options we provide. You can also see pictures of the Ground spaces, Premium spaces, Estates, and Private Mausoleums below. If you wish to discuss these or other burial options, please contact us and we’ll be happy to assist you.

GROUND SPACE

Mt. Sinai has ample graves available in all sections of the cemetery. There are currently 3 sections for Jewish singles and couples, as well as 2 sections for intermarried couples. If you are interested in burial for 2 people, you can choose traditional side-by-side burial (2 graves) or companion burial (a single double depth grave with one burial above the other). Both are religiously correct.

Paved walkways in front of every grave provide the utmost respect to the deceased, and provide easy access to visitors. The cemetery is handicapped accessible.

PREMIUM GRAVES

For couples desiring a unique more private burial space, there are premium spaces available. Most consist of 2 graves side-by-side, a decorative wall behind, and open space on each side. Each grave accommodates 1 person, or if you choose, one or both graves can be used as a companion grave (a double depth grave with one burial above the other). An appropriate monument can be purchased when preplanning, or at the time of need. If desired, a bench can be placed on one side.

ESTATES

Estates are designed for couples. A beautiful wall surrounds the Estate, which features two side-by-side graves and a double monument for the family name and 2 inscriptions. An accompanying bench provides a quiet place for rest and quiet memories. Jacob Estates are enclosed with an iron gate bearing the family name.

MAUSOLEUM

A private mausoleum can be purchased for those wanting above-ground burial. Built of beautiful granite, with many beautiful designs from which to choose, the mausoleum provides burial for two. A paved walkway provides easy access and visitation. A mausoleum must be preplanned – purchased and installed several months or more before a burial is needed.

At a time of loss, great comfort comes from embracing the rich traditions of our Jewish faith.
